Plan Your Pittsburgh Moving Crew
Start with the workload, not just bedrooms
Choosing how many movers you need starts with your furniture inventory, access and schedule. A small apartment with a heavy sofa and several flights of stairs can require more planning than a larger home with easy truck access. Tell PittMovers whether you need loading, unloading or both.
Two, three or four movers?
A two-person crew is a useful starting point to discuss for a smaller, ready-packed move or truck unloading. Ask about three movers when the inventory is larger or work can happen in parallel. Discuss four movers for a larger household or a substantial loading-and-unloading project. These are planning examples, not guaranteed crew assignments or completion times.
Access details that change the plan
Count stairs at both addresses, measure tight doorways and note the walk from the truck to the entrance. Share elevator reservations, loading restrictions and any basement or attic furniture. In Pittsburgh, hillside entrances and narrow streets can make the actual carry route more important than the bedroom count.
Will more movers finish faster?
Sometimes additional movers can pack, carry and organize the load at the same time. Narrow stairs, one elevator or limited loading space can restrict that benefit. Compare the proposed crew and expected scope together, rather than assuming twice the crew means half the time.
What about pianos and unusually heavy items?
Flag a piano, safe, oversized furniture or fragile item before booking. Provide dimensions, photos if requested, and the access route. Specialty handling needs a separate review; adding another mover does not automatically make every item suitable for a standard move.
Your crew planning checklist
Prepare a furniture and box list, both ZIP codes, your truck or container plans, stairs at both locations, packing needs and your preferred date. Use MoveRec to explain the project, then confirm the crew, scope and quote with PittMovers at 412-444-8177.
